Characteristics
The red fox has orangish-red fur on its back, sides and head. It has white fur under its neck and on its chest. It has a long bushy tail tipped in white, pointed black ears and black legs and feet.

Life Cycle
A Red Fox will mate January through March. A little less than two months after mating, the female will give birth to 1-10 kits. The kits will leave their mother at about 7 months

Habitat/Range
A Red Fox will usually make it's home in a wooded area. The countries that have Red Foxes are North America, Alaska, Canada, Asia, Europe, Hawaii, and are bieng introduced to Australia.

Diet/Behavior
A Red Fox will usually eat rodents like rabbits, mice, rats, and squirrels.
A Red Fox is mostly nocturnal but it will come out during the day. Unlike other mammals a Red Fox can hear low frequency sounds like little animals digging underground. Then they will follow that sounds to where the animals are and either pounce on or chase the animal. Other than breeding females, a Red Fox will not usually use a den. It will most likely curl up on the ground and use it's big bushy tail for a pillow.
